An interesting report on the use of Web-sites for health promotion and health support

The role and effectiveness of collaborative knowledge systems in health promotion and health support. Tavistock Institute, London, 2004
URL: http://www.tavinstitute.org/getdoc.php?id=77

A total of forty-seven collaborative knowledge systems (mostly Web-based) providing health information and support services to health care professionals and consumers were analyzed in the report. 57% - users act as passive consumers of information provided by experts and professionals. The report also presents information about types of content, knowledge production, scenarios of use, and "holding techniques" used by health care Web-sites
